Have you helped preserve or restore abuilding exterior? Then the Ames Historic Preservation Commission would like to hear from you.
They are seeking nominations for the 2013 Preservation Awards Program.
To be eligible, the work must have been undertaken within the city limits of Ames, have undergone historic rehabilitation, restoration, historic preservation, or adaptive reuse, and be at least 50 years old. It also must have been completed within the last three years or is scheduled for completion by May 2013.
Nomination applications are available from the Department of Planning and Housing on 515 Clark Ave., or on their website.
Nominations should be submitted by 5 p.m. on February 14th. Honorees will receive their awards in April or May as part of the local observance of National Historic Preservation Month.
