LECTURE SERIES: Historic Preservation Speaker Announced | Arts & Culture
The Ames Historic Preservation Commission is hosting a series of free public lectures to raise awareness about the importance of historic preservation in the community.
On Monday, April 8 from 7 p.m., guest speaker Steve Wilke-Shapiro will cover his favored topics of historic preservation, historic tax credits, and sensitive rehabilitation.
Wilke-Shapiro founded the Des Moines Rehabbers Club, a non-profit education and resource organization.
The event will be held at City Council Chambers in City Hall on Clark Ave.
Future topics in the lecture series include “Repair and Rehab of Old Windows” in May, “Sustainability” in June, and “Taking Advantage of Tax Credits” in July. All lectures are free and open to the public.
