NATIONAL AWARD: Professor Recognized | Environment

An ISU landscape architect professor has been recognized this week with a national award.
Christopher J. Seeger, an associate professor of landscape architecture and extension specialist, will receive a 2013 National Planning Achievement Award for Transportation Planning by The American Planning Association at their annual conference in April.
The award recognizes outstanding planning issues and education efforts.
According to the APA, Seeger' is one of 12 for exemplary planning achievement and one of two for achievement in the area of transportation planning.
Seeger worked on a range of planning tools on behalf of the Department of Transport’s Safe Routes to School program that helps students to walk and bike to school safely.
Seeger also co-developed I-WALK (Iowans Walking Assessment Logistics Kit), a scheme that gathers data and public perceptions.
